Louis Justman

I am an experienced and dedicated educator with a passion for supporting and empowering students with special needs and their teachers. Throughout my career, I have honed my expertise in special education and instructional technology, developing a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that arise when teaching students with diverse learning needs.

In my decade of work as a teacher, I built a reputation for my compassionate and student-centered approach, always striving to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where all students could thrive. I am skilled at designing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), adapting instruction to meet each student's unique needs, and collaborating with families, fellow teachers, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for my students.

My experience in instructional technology has further enhanced my ability to support students. I am proficient with a range of technology tools and platforms, which I embed into my teaching practice to improve student engagement and achievement. Whether working with assistive technologies to support students with disabilities or thinking up ways to incorporate digital resources to help all students access and master challenging content, I am committed to leveraging technology to improve educational outcomes for every student.

My passion lies in staying at the bleeding edge of technology and working to apply that innovation to special educators in ways that are meaningful and transformative to their practice. With the rise of generative artificial intelligence, I am invigorated. My current professional goals align with helping coach teachers build the skill set they need to best capitalize on the wave of education 6.0 and lean into how tech can improve their practice. By doing so, I can help prepare teachers to create better, inclusive, and accessible learning environments that meet the needs of all students.

I am excited about the opportunity to continue to make a positive impact in the lives of students with diverse needs and to help shape the future of education through my research, writing, and teaching.
